Women in Government Conclave
After the huge success of the earlier two editions of the Women in Government Dialogues, Femme First Foundation organised the third edition called the Women in Government Conclave to promote and showcase women's leadership in India.
This edition of Women in Government was held from 22nd-24th October, as a hybrid of in-person and virtual events, comprising of panel discussions, workshops, and interviews. The broad topics covered were challenges for women in politics, women’s leadership in India and globally, women’s economic empowerment, online safety for women, etc.
At the #WomenInGovernment Conclave, Shri. Bhupesh Baghel, Hon. Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh highlighted the efforts of the Govt. of Chhattisgarh in marginalising the gender gap in all social spheres.
Former Prime Minister of Peru (2020-2021), Ms. Violeta Bermudez spoke about the importance of women in government and applauded Femme First's initiative at the #WomeninGovernment Conclave.
Inaugural Event
The inaugural of the Women in Government Conclave in New Delhi saw women politicians from diverse political parties discuss the challenges of being women in Indian politics. The guest of honor of the event was Ms. Rony Yedidia Clein, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Israel. The speakers were Ms.Yashomati Thakur, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister, Minister of Women and Child Development; Ms. Charu Pragya, Media Panelist, BJP; Ms. Juhie Singh, National President of the Samajwadi Party women’s wing; Ms. Varsha Nikam, Femme First Fellow, Ex-Sarpanch & Joint Secretary, NCP Maharashtra.
